Last May 22, 2018 at Makati City, Philippines, the first Blockchain Space in the Philippines was launched by Acceler8 of UnionSPACE, a workspace provider, and SCI, a fintech company which aims to develop solutions for financial services using blockchain technology.
Blockchain Space Manila is the Philippine Chapter of Blockchain Space Asia, co-founded by Steven Suhadi, Chairman of the Indonesian Blockchain Association, and Albert Goh, CEO of UnionSPACE. The Blockchain Space, an innovative initiative pioneedered by UnionSPACE, aims to bring together fintech companies from all over South East Asia (SEA) through a series collaborations and events involving networking, seminars, workshops, and training sessions. There are already four Blockchain Spaces around SEA owned by UnionSpace; this incorporates the Philippines in the regions Blockchain community.
Acceler8, also created by UnionSpace, is a co-working space which provides business solutions such as office spaces, event rooms, virtual offices, as well as meeting rooms. Consolidated recently by UnionSpace, its presence across South East Asia in countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand opens members, not only to business solutions, but to opportunities such as partnerships, investing, as well as VC’s all over the region.
“This is a very exciting project knowing that we’re getting a lot of support from other organizations and
most especially our collaboration with industry leader, SCI. We’re planning to roll out a series of
Blockchain events that will bring together fintech companies in the country,” adds Mikko Barranda, CEO

Since 2014, it has been carving a path a path for other companies in the business.
